Center for Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems (CASOS)
My primary affiliation is with the Center for Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems (CASOS). CASOS aims to address “complex real-world issues” through computational social science, focusing especially on techniques from network science, text mining, applied machine learning, and simulation. My graduate advisor Dr. Kathleen Carley is the director of the center.
Center for Informed Democracy and Social Cybersecurity (IDeaS)
I am also a Knight Fellow with the Center for Informed Democracy and Social Cybersecurity (IDeaS). IDeaS is Carnegie Mellon’s hub for interdisciplinary research into disinformation, hate speech, and extremism. As a Knight Fellow, my research on online hate contributes to the center’s broader mission of better understanding digital threats to democracy around the world and innovating solutions to address them.
Division 48, American Psychological Association (APA)
I am a graduate affiliate of APA Division 48, also known as the Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict and Violence. Since 2020 I have been an associate editor of its publication The Peace Psychologist, where it has been my passion to showcase the stories of peace psychologists in terms of their research and broader advocacies. I have also been a member of the Small Grants Committee, which supports peace psychology research especially in understudied contexts worldwide.
Editorial Board, Journal of Social and Political Psychology
I am most grateful to have been named to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Social and Political Psychology this year! It is an open-access journal with a global and multidisciplinary outlook toward social and political psychology, and I am proud to be a part of the publication.
